i7 7700K is a lovely cpu; get the best price you can ;)
MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon is a very good Motherboard, 3 x M.2 slots, Steel Armoured PCIE slots, excellent BIOS and a wee bit cheaper than ASUS at £169 at OCUK. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-z270-gaming-pro-carbon-intel-z270-socket-1151-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-31e-ms.html
Corsair LPX 16G dual channel kit, 2400Mhz at £129 OCUK. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/corsair-vengeance-lpx-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-pc4-19200c14-2400mhz-dual-channel-kit-black-cmk16gx4m2a24-my-439-cs.html
For cooling i would recommend an AIO water cooler but seeing as it's only for the CPU all you need is a 120mm rad, Corsair H60i £100 at OCUK. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/corsair-hydro-series-h80i-v2-extreme-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler-cw-9060024-ww-hs-037-cs.html
Or if Air cooling is what you want then i recommend the Noctua NH-D15 £77 at OCUK but case dimensions are a must to double check that it fits as it's huge. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/noctua-nh-d15-dual-radiator-quiet-cpu-cooler-with-two-nh-a15-fans-hs-026-nc.html
The LPX memory is a MUST with an air cooler

I managed to get decent money for the items I sold so the upgrade was worth my while :D

- Asus ROG STRIX Z370E Gaming
- EVGA GTX 1070TI

Just picked up x2 of these bad-boys, it was a real toss-up between TN and IPS but I went for the TN in the end. (Was considering one of each, but then just went for the two TN)
The money wasn't an issue between them as they were priced similarly.

Happy as a pig in shit :D
I don't notice any difference in the quality of games / desktop in terms of clarity but am really enjoying the extra real estate the larger monitor gives over the BenQ 1080p (144hz) that I had.
I have both of these running at 165hz and can't notice any real difference between the higher refresh rate and the 144hz. the 1440p is definitely a little more taxing on my 1070ti but everything still runs smooth as butter.
Can recommend these for sure.
