I've DL'ED fraps.. gotta say, that little box looks promising..
Just this: anyone willing to get me trough the basic steps of using it?
(you know how noob i am at soft/hard ware)
I'd just need the basic steps, i suppose, the rest will become more clear when using..
Greetings from Bruges!

Offcourse ,, i assume you have installed it ...
In movies section when you open it,
#1 Make Folder specified for Fraps in a spot that has more then enough space by clicking on th Change button, top right.
#2 Video Capture Settings: 30 fps Full-size more then that is not needed. ( if you want slowmotion in another game that doesnt support that in theatre, use 60 en downgrade it in editing to get max Quality, but that little walkthrough is for another time)
#3 if you wanna record only you ingame Sound uncheck the Record External input en put it on Stereo
if you do want to talk over you footage (like for instants in a live Let's Play) check the Record external input en put it on multichannel
#4 Check the box "Hide mouse cursor in video"
Keep the program running and boot up your Black Ops.. you will see a Yellow number go in the Right upper corner.
Use your Previously set Hotkey to start recorder , the number will turn Red.
If you are done recording just hit the Hotkey again.
If you go to your folder you will see alot of files.
Fraps does not make one big file it makes more, that way it will not put unnessesary stress on you PC.
these files you can just import in you editing software.

hey,
also it will make a HUGE difference if you set Fraps to record on a separate drive than the one you're running your system and the game..
my current setup:
1. 96 gb SSD (OCZ with windows vista and my steam games (tested speeds are 260 mb/sec read and 200 mb/sec write, almost as officially printed)
2. 250 gb HDD (Seagate 100 mb/sec r/w tested) with two partitions:
- main one for different stuff, ntfs formatted , 8k allocation
- fraps one, for about 40 gb, 16k allocation for big files, 4 gb max pieces that fraps makes.
at my recorded resolution of full hd 1920x1080x30fps i rarely get stutter in recording 4-5 minutes from theater and thats due to the hdd's write speed, i plan to get another 64 gb ssd with around 200 mb/sec write.
so depending on your recording resolution from theater you might or not get happy with a separate hdd and definately be ok with a decent ssd.
