Welcome dude. There was a Zombies and Demons update today. You've possibly got the auto update already, so until the server is updated, your key won't match what's on the server. I'm sure the server will be updated very soon though. See you in Chernarus 35

Thanks for your input dude. Some interesting points, and also thanks for the compliments. It's great that those who find the server appreciate the experience Therein lies our biggest challenge. Helping people find the server. There's still a player base of 100's of thousands who'd love to find the original DayZ Mod experience on Arma 3, but getting the information out there is the problem. We've done small promotions on Steam workshop and Steam Video's, and for a short period the server comes alive with players. When it's alive, it's almost more DayZ than the original DayZ. It's properly electric. But when the promotion material drops away from the "new this week" lists, the server population slowly declines again. It only takes a day or two of low activity, and the people who are visiting don't stick around. You need an active player base of around 3000+ to hold a server at 10+ players 24/7 every single day for a month. Getting those first 3000 is so hard. About Tanoa, and I don't speak for the whole community with this. Just my personal thoughts. Our heritage in is original DayZ Mod Chernarus. It's just something we've got lots of experience with from Arma 2. Altis didn't work out for us and makes us (or at least me) nervous of other maps. You wouldn't believe how beautifully we tuned Exile for Altis, but we were stuck with the same problem we have now. Attracting the players. People simply go where the players already are, and those servers are the ones with huge player bases already on other servers. A switch to Tanoa now is a massive gamble dude, at a time when hundreds of Tanoa servers will be springing up all fighting for the same few players, and with no reference points for us to know how to tune it for the best experience. I'll definitely be playing the new map, but for all the effort we've put into Chernarus, we just really need to attract the player base to see it do as well as it deserves. Seriously, with lots of players on, it's electric. Hope you stick around dude and can help see the server through to the high pop days 36

Have the safe's glitched out in the last week? Returned yesterday to find one of mine had been reset to 0000 and the contents had been emptied, replaced with a few bits of tat The weird thing is, the safe is in my base, and nobody except me has the codes. 38

I'm wondering if the Exile mod (or one of the updated mods) on the server side might be corrupted and causing some of these problems with vehicles? We're having that old problem of clothing vanishing while we're wearing it again, and sometimes when clothing/bags are stored in inventory/backpacks, the contents vanish. Is very strange.

As I think about this, I'm guessing the coding could be a proper nightmare, but...
Could base building be linked to Rank in some way? So the higher your rank, the bigger your base could be? So bottom ranks, territory size can only accommodate 1 floor panel in size, and you can upgrade territory size when your rank increases? Instead of the high cost system? 41

As I see it, we have 3 problems
1/ Nobody knows the server/game is here 2/ 19 out of 20 people who find the server can't work out how to log in 3/ When they do get in, nobody is here, so they quickly leave again Promoting on Steam and Youtube saw a massive change, with the server doing really well at certain times in the day. But as the promotion material drops off the "most recent" lists, it's as good as gone. It only takes a handful of new arrivals to move on and the server is empty at all the wrong times of the day again. And we're back to an empty server. If we could constantly trickle promotional material, and spoon feed the instructions to get in, it would tick along great. The core game is awesome. I'm all out of energy for making more stuff though at the moment. Like, all out drained going to get league of legends style desperate drained 44

Hi
Have noticed a trend for newcomers and freshspawns to quit when it's night time. Players without flashlights and low gear. There's no flashlight attachment for the P07 pistol which is the one we spawn in with, but there is one for the CZ 75 Duty pistol. The CZ 75 Duty also takes the same rounds as the P07, so no loot table adjustments need to be made. Was wondering if it was worth changing the P07 for freshspawns to the CZ 75 Duty with the CZ M3X Pistol Flashlight attachment? The light is dim, but it gives everyone a sporting chance? |
