Title: Just questions for discussion :D

Can map markers for your character be turned off?  So you can't see where you are on the map?  Puts game in learning your surroundings and the map, and emphasis on finding a GPS.

Can waypoints be disabled?  Same as above, and might reduce straight lining.

Can the Group system be turned off?  Same as above.

Can clothing loot capacity be modified, so all we can carry loot in is backpacks?

Can we opt out of the ranking system, so a dead character respawns in with nothing except maybe a map and xm8?

Can persistent but permanently unlocked vehicles be added to the map?

If above is yes, can vehicle quality be reduced to a specific set of vehicles?

I love it.  Letting go of the "perks" like markers, waypoints and spawn gear was actually harder than adjusting to the lack of them.  When you do adjust, I think the feeling of remoteness and danger (read atmosphere) jumps up about 10 notches, and even the previously simple task of navigating is now an absorbing risky event all of its own  ;D  Lots of survival server points scored with this one.

Loving the new server name  8)

I wasn't expecting this, but the skill of the roaming ai suddenly feels pretty OP.  Did you change anything with them?  The chances of surviving more than 1 encounter with them feel much smaller, which even for a survival server feels a bit steep.  Interested to see what others think, was maybe having a bad aim night  ;D

Edit:  Forgot about the XM8 treats.  Awesome  8)

I miss my map marker and i miss my waypoints  >:( , i agree on the spawn equipment but give a ranked player some kit (not the best granted). At the moment the rank system is moot, no other server has a ranked system and this needs to be used to sell the server.
 The roaming AI are random and killable still.

To be honest, showing the player marker was never something that we wanted from the start. This was never available on our DayZ servers and is definitely good to have removed.

Waypoints, these could be re-enabled should there be enough support for them. I personally like these disabled as it stops people just setting a marker on the map and then straight lining to the place they want to get to.
The vehicles are WAY too fast across off-road terrain and the roads are very rarely used by anyone because of this.

Roaming AI have not been touched, just unlucky at times I guess Mitton :)

The rank system, give some suggestions as to what you think should go with it.


We need to think deeply as to what sort of a server we want Exile to be. We need to keep pushing hard in one direction. I was under the impression that most people wanted a Survival game, similar to DayZ from exile - has this changed?
