To be honest, it was expected to happen sooner or later.  Setting aside a chopper assault.  The proximity of vehicles means that the entire base could be seriously damaged by one well placed grenade. 

With the time and effort these take to build, maintain and organise.  It's so easy for someone to come along and take everything away with no consideration or respect for the people who built it.  Which is why I tend not to bother dedicating myself to them.

It would be nice to think "I would respect the dedication made to creating their base, so they will do the same to mines" (plot-twist, I don't really).  But you can't rely on everyone thinking the same way.  Destroying what someone has made is just part of DayZ.
