General Tips n Tricks for LoL

So i figured i'd start a thread for us all to suggest our tips n tricks for LoL.
- In ARAM its a good idea to have someone on the team build aegis / bulwark - it gives that extra bit of added def / MR to everyone and as your ALWAYS teamfighting, its very efficient, also nobody ever builds armor / MR so you'll give them at least something. Generally someone who is melee / tanky so that the others can go ragemode.
- The above also applies to items that offer team buffs (Zekes Herald, Wisdom of the ancients etc)
- Use the correct runes / masteries for champions, it helps ALOT. You can find the optimal ones in a good build on TSM's or any respected build website.
- Before you jump into a teamfight (Initiate) drop a ping on who your going to target so that 1) Your team knows your going to fight and 2) your team knows how to focus. How many times have you initiated only to have your team walk off or attack someone completely different leaving you dead and 3 of them at 50% hp.
- Always keep wards up in your lane in a Summoners Rift 5v5. To prevent ganks and know enemy position.

- Ties in with the above - Always keep wards up when your pushing lane so you dont get sandwiched and bumfiddled.
-Again the above, Always try to know where the enemy jungle and other lanes are. Make an internal checklist.

Lane 2 - Check
Jungler visible / not nearby - Check
Then push.
- Dont trade kills (1 for 1 etc) if your ahead, it just feeds up the other team because your worth more.
- Suicide is often worth it to claim an opponents bounty (kill streak) - think your worth 150g, they are worth 500g.
- Did i mention wards.
- Use proper builds. "Winging" it is usually suboptimal and leads to you being ineffective. There are plenty of websites for good builds.

Also a couple more tips.
-Know your builds prior to starting the game so you dont waste time thinking / searching in game.
-When thinking of going back to buy, make sure you have enough gold for what you want. E.G 1600g for needlessly large rod, 750g for spirit + boots. Not having enough gold does one of two things.
1) Makes your back worthless / worth less as you just went B, didnt pick up any items and returned to lane losing CS over your opponents.
2) Makes you spend that gold on other crap that while gives you a short boost, reduces your itemisation and effectiveness later. Sure having that BF Sword and Zeal are awesome. But a faster Infinity edge is alot better.

In regards to the stat caps from earlier krisis.

CDR - 40% Cap (CDR Boots + Athenes is 30%)
Attack speed - 2.5 per second.
Nothing else is hard-capped. So crit can reach 100% etc.
Movement speed takes a -50% reduction on gains after 490 though, so 500 would be 495 (490 +10 divided by 2) and a further 20% after 415.

So, big red warning saying dont bump, fuck you.
-Skills and items reset auto-attack animations, allowing you to attack more / quicker. Things such as wukongs Q, Jax Q (is it Q? the +dmg on next hit thing) and tiamat/hydra active, example being: auto-q-auto-hydra-auto on wukong, hitting q/hydra as soon as you see the auto damage register on the enemy.
-Gold advantage is more then just kills for/against. Towers, dragons, barons and CS all add up. Generally 10-20 CS are the same as a kill (depending on time, bounty, what minions killed etc) Towers and dragons are worth 750g each (150x5) and baron 1500g. Example (assuming kills=250g, towers=750g):
Team 1: 2 towers, 5 kills = 2750 Team 2: 0 towers, 10 kills = 2500g
5 kills up, still down on overall gold. Of course, gold stacked on one player can be a shitstorm, everyones experienced that fed fizz. So even with a gold advantage you have to play smart, if one players 6-0, you need to focus that player. (Exhaust = OP in this situation.) but generally its not good to assume you're winning through just kills.
-Power spikes. Generally champions will powerspike at level 3, 6, 11, 16 and upon completing big-items. The level timings are to do with when they first have access to their skillset (level 3) and each tier of their ultimate. Big-item completion should be obvious, infinity edge, deathcap, brutalizer etc all give massive power jumps from their precursors (build items). Consider this when choosing to fight. This is why an exp/gold advantage can be so powerful, even only a slight one. Hitting 6 first or getting a fight with IE vs BF sword/Pickaxe gives you a BIG advantage.
-You can ward over big walls provided you "place" it over halfway between you and the other side, it will just appear on the other side of the wall, if you fail it'll appear at your feet
. Get as close to the wall as possible when attempting

Bumping this shit with some general crap to maybe encourage you all to share some tips / start using the LoL subforum a bit more.
- Do not waste your mana / cooldowns needlessly. There is no need to spam your skills to shove a lane without reason (Reason: Lane MIA, you're safe, kill tower or making the lane push out.) the reason people last hit is to prevent shoving the lane forward and putting yourself in more danger, even without last hitting, wasting mana on creeps is only ever a good thing if your intention is to shove the lane out for a good reason, like needing to go B, shoving the lane before doing so protects your tower or wanting to get at their tower ASAP. If you spam your skills on creeps you'll be left with nothing for harrass and fights, the enemy sees you have no mana and WILL punish you for it if they arent wood 5 league.
- Pink wards changed in S4, everyone is allowed to place 1 and its visible, you can get endless vision from them as they dont expire as long as they arent found and are usually a great investment when well-placed. 2 good spots are: the brush inbetween baron and top red + small brush between dragon and midlane in the river. I usually get at least 5+ minutes on these and buy/place them on my 2nd back as a jungle / support. (top ward jungle, bot ward support). Ive had plenty of games where they last 20+ minutes or the entire game, silver players are stupid.

You cannot rely on the support / jungler only to ward anymore. Everyone should be picking up a ward each time they return to base, if possible. This is especially important if you have lost map control..

Use extreme caution, if you do ( but I suggest you NEVER do it) roam around warding by yourself mid - late game.

If 'you see' your lane opponent wandering off to another lane to gank them,,,, follow them please! I know we don't always see them going there, eg: they may have gone straight from base, but ffs if they leave your lane and wander up/down to another... FOLLOW THEM DOWN
FEEDING / TRADING

Don't unnecessarily trade with your opponent. Especially if you are behind or even on levels (both lvl 2 etc..) , it 'might' be a good idea if you are a level ahead.
*
Don't feed early
, especially if you are countered. Play defensive, freeze your lane if you have to, buy your defensive item first and play safe without trading. Sacrifice farming for a bit if you have to but keep in XP range - simply farm under your turret. Call for ganks. Your jungler will gank if your opponent is pushing you hard and is camping your turret. He will not gank if you are already dead, he hasn't even cleared blue/red yet or you are already dead from a pointless trade. For heavens sake, DO NOT DIE.

the junglers job to keep your noob ass alive in your lane. He/she will try to assist you in everyway, but you have to set the lane up for ganks.. EG: Is it warded, where did the enemy ward (generally you will see if the enemy walks to a bush in order to ward it)? Are you pushed past the rivers safety? Do you need to dive for the kill or not? etc...

If you are being constantly dived at your turret and killed, you are constantly asking the jungler for help but he/she is not ganking/camping your lane. That is your junglers fault
*
Please ward your own lane to protect yourself from enemy ganks, and keep it warded... Remember, wards = map hacks. Too stupid to spend the 150g on a back to get x2 green wards to cover mid lane? GG on rushing your amplifying tome, I bet that extra 20ap dont fk all to save your ass from a lee sin gank from that mid bush you could've warded. WP on the extra 300g you just gave the enemy for dying to a gank.

For all that is absolute common sense,,
PLEASE DONT
chase an almost dead champion half way across the map. You do realise that they are running directly to the rest of their team right ? 99% of the time it is much better to take dragon or a turret instead. OMFG, use your brain on this please. It is really annoying to see x3 half health teammates chasing the 1/3 health yasuo across the entire map trying to kill him - not realising that he is leading them directly to a full health AP Annie or a fed Akali etc.... GG to the triple death... Wouldn't letting him go and taking drake have been so much more constructive. Now the rest of the enemy team is back up and they get a free objective - turret/inhib or drake/baron etc..

Don't forget LoL is an objective based team game... Prioritize objectives and winning over your own egotistical KDA..

If your fed and snowballing hard, please try to get another carry fed.. This doesn't mean gift all the kills but it is so much more effective to have multiple carries doing big damage. Im sure we've all seen the Lee Sin that took every single kill in-game, only to fall off late game and the rest of the team cant do shit.
TARGETS
*
Prioritize the AD/AP Carries in team fights. Don't focus the tank, there is a reason he is in your face and in front of the entire team. Don't go chasing focusing the 1hp Tryndamere with his ultimate activated just because he is in your face.... Take out that fed Orianna or Jinx instead..
Just some games played, but notice the amount of wards purchased.
