General Discussion / Next Day : Survival

A new game in early access, post apocalyptic but without a Zed in sight  :) Good sized map to roam around, there are 3 factions Civilians, Neutrals and Looters. You can also be a traitor if you shoot people within your own faction  ;)
 AI's aimbot is OP, so one shots with sniper rifles is a must have, air drops, cars. But firstly it's a loot and flog grindy game to get some money.
 Solo missions are very good and bear meat tastes great :)
 All in All a very good game that shows lots of promise and it's cheap  ::)

Technical Support / Lower CPU and GPU Temps

To lower your CPU Temps please read the list.
1. Bin your stock cooler as they are rubbish and only fit for landfill.
2. Upgrade to an aftermarket CPU cooler Air or Water is up to you.
3. Cooler Master or BeQuiet make very good air coolers.
4. Corsair and Cooler master make very good AIO Watercoolers, EK make AWESOME AIO Watercoolers.

To lower your GPU Temps...
1. Airflow is king, more air in = Cooler GPU (and CPU if on air).
2. Upgrade your stock case fans, only a few case makers fit good fans.
3. Think Static Pressure fans over AirFlow fans as S/P move more air.
4. If you want a 747 taking off next to you then buy Corsair fans.
5. Some cases have a fan position above the GPU so it may be handy to add one.

General Tips for CPU and GPU...
1. Add more air in than Exhaust, you are feeding your computer with Airflow that is cooler than inside the case. As a plus it also cuts dust down.
2. Add a custom fan curve for your case fans.
3. Only buy PWM fans as it adds greater flexibility for fan curves and RPM monitoring.
4. Use a HW monitoring software to keep an eye on Temps.

I have a few ideas for the Exile server, nothing earth shattering but just things to add to what is an excellent and pretty much unique Arma 3 server. We all agree that basic Exile was just a 'flog the lot'  simulator that revolved around the sodding terminal, and got very monotonous and boring as hell. A3 Vanilla is never going to get boring, but i have a few ideas to throw in for discussion....

1. It pisses down way to often, core temp is a pain in the arse when doing a mission as you have to hop in a car to heat up or start losing health at 35 degrees. So if it rains can you shorten the duration of the rain, i still want the rain but would like to see less of it.

2. Gain a Permanent vehicle from the car thieves or car dealer mission. Cars are so rare and everyone that has one treats it better than their RL daily driver, wheels are very rare to find and are cherished when you finally find one.

3. A way to sell unwanted gear, so a dump somewhere. I would like it if it did NOT accept vehicles or weapons as their rarity make them cherished (see No 2), but if you have a load of sights, silencers and stuff you can get a few Tabs to be able to afford a supply drop. It will take 100hrs play to get the large drop at 100,000 Tabs.

4. The Large drop is only useful for the code locks as all the other gear is buildable in about 1hr of deforestation and a bit of food and water. The 75,000 Tab drop is the best bang for buck airdrop as 90% of it is flaming awesome and is worth EVERY Tab of the cost, code locks are a nice thing to have and can be found on missions but are not needed to secure a base.

5. Ammo spawns for DMR and M14 are pretty much non existent in military loot spawns as i have never seen one.

There we go, just a few ideas that might make our server even better or worse. please comment on them and feel free to add your own ideas. Lots of hard work have gone into creating and modifying our server and making it THE best server out there, let's see if we can improve on perfection  :)

Edit: Fookin found a DMR and 3 mags, LOL!!!!! Tempt fate and it shall appear  :)

I logged in at trade zone, heard a massive explosion. I ran out onto the pan and saw a box van and an ifrit blown up, only me and sav were on. I took some screenshots, it might explain my missing Ghost hawk.

Myself and Mitton fancied a pop at this tough mission early this morning, we took out a large amount of the mission AI and a few roamers. my kills were 27 in total and Mitton must have been the same but the mission still said '41 remaining' even after we had probably got the mission AI down to single figures, it would seem the counter was dodgy  :( Lovely mission by the way and i would love to see what the loot would be  :)

Why? Read this:

While testing the new Arma version, we have identified at least nine bugs in it. We have reported all of them to Bohemia Interactive and hope for a second hotfix. They have already hotfixed one of our reports yesterday.

It is too late for me to mention all problems we have found. To mention a few problems we have found so far:

You cannot run through doors with launchers, axe or big weapons anymore
Hiding group hexagons does not hide the one of the leader, thus our new party ESP is somewhat useless
Fuel stations are not marked on the map anymore
Re-fueling of vehicles at fuel stations requires you to get out and in before it works (By design?)
Implementation of one essential SQF structure is broken, thus almost 400 of our files do not work anymore
We hope all of the critical bugs will be fixed as soon as possible.

This really demotivates us, so we will take a day off. Please understand.

Technical Support / Overclock

GPU's are sitting at 1550Mhz, SLI is working fine in OA  :) i54690K is currently sitting at 4.2Ghz,Benchmarked and Burnt in. It's stable and i will leave it there for a week or two, i have another 2 fans coming for my H80i (Temp's sit at 63 degrees at 100%) ((Corsair SP120 PWM)) to complement my 4 AF120's (2 y splitters in the post now).

Technical Support / How to get an FPS boost

I have been able to gain an extra 10 FPS by overclocking my GTX970's, i used MSI Afterburner and Valley to test. So far i am at 1450Mhz GPU and 1200Mhz Memory, need to give it a week or so then push it some more. Next thing to do is add a couple of fans over the cards to add more airflow as it got to 87c under max load on valley, It's a FREE!!! thing to do and is well worth it  :)

Epoch has Harriers, could you please add them  :) I have the landing pad built already (bye bye MV22 Death Trap), pretty please with sugar on top  ::)
