Welll tbh, I like SA a lot, but it is still in alpha. That is the annoying thing about it. But in my opinion, it's the best survival game out there atm. Lootwise, it is hard, so you need to go inland. If you play on the right private servers, you will meet enough people. Hence DayZ and Exile mod are hard for me to adapt, since in Arma it seems everything and everyone is KoS

Yesterday my boyZ and me hold up 2 guys near NWA, we tied them up with rope. Looted them and let them live.
If we feel cheeky we unpin a grenade and put it in one of the guys its cloting and when they pick it up and wear it, it explodes :P

But Arma 3 now. My experience the last 2 weeks with arma are:

- lots of mods, so something there for everyone
- every server is different, which makes it interesting
- no public servers, seen barely any cheaters
- Wasteland, KotH and Battle royale are full pvp mods
- Exile is very popular where DayZ mod is barely any servers, good ping servers then
- seen only Youtubes from Sada and Frankie about life servers and epoch

So can anyone explain me some questions I have:

- what is the difference between Exile Mod and DayZ Mod
- how many DayZ mods are there? what are the difference between them, since i have a hard time reading about on the internetZ
- what maps are possible for DayZ mods?

Rust:

- no experience, only watched some streams and youtubes but it does not really floats my boat, or at least tickles me enough to buy it

The other games, I don't have or not interested in so can't give any ideas about them.

What I do know is that people are going crazy about BF1, not me, I can't see the hype. And I owned all BF editions but stopped since BF 4/Hardline

DayZ mod is where DayZ started.  It's simply a mod for Arma 2.  A fantastic mod.  It was published for free by its developers and all was good in the world.  Later, Bohemia picked up the rights to the title/game and made Standalone.  It's never been as good as DayZ mod imo.
Exile mod is a sandbox base building pvp mod for Arma 3.  It has no real structure or theme.  It's a bit of a turd of a mod to be honest.
There's only 1 DayZ mod, but some people made mods of it, such as Epoch and Overpoch.  They never really succeeded to the same level that original DayZ mod did.
You can use many maps from Arma 2 for DayZ.  The classic map where it all started is Chernarus.

I think you deserve a holiday mate, without server things ;D  And can get it tuned back to classic Pinky's when you get back?

Or Monday, whichever works best ;D

If we do it Monday I'll have time during the week to recreate or settings before heading on holidays. If we wait till afterwards, I won't be able to change it over until the 19th / 20th .

For a server that we will definitely change over I can't really see much purpose in delaying tbh.

I missed the vote window since I havent been on much this weekend. I really really enjoy what you guys have built here, and I'd hate to see it go - but I get it. Without a playerbase it's sort of an exercise in futility, or at least feels less worth it/rewarding.

I havent tried SA. I know people that have/do play it and none of them have anything good to say about the game experience. It's a completely different type of game, but ARK was a whole lot of fun for me for awhile. It's hardly a replacement for ARMA though. I happen to really enjoy ARMA, and have gotten into making Zeus missions for my pals to play, but none of my gamer friends really enjoy ARMA as much as I do.

I like the house you've built. But if it goes to something new, I also like the folks here enough that I'll stick around to see what gets put together :) If I didnt appreciate the mess caused by game updates breaking the server in new and unexpected ways everytime there's a patch, I'd probably make a more compelling case. But that's a great deal of work for Krisis and any other admin that work on the fix or deal with the complaints, and that's crappy for something that supposed to be a fun hobby. I get it. And thank you for having done it for this long.
