DayZ Mod - (1.8.8) / I am taking a break.« on: November 10, 2015, 11:15:02 PM »
Hi guys.
To put it bluntly, there's a lot of satisfaction that I used to get out of the game that is now currently lacking. When I played Day Zero (a mod for DayZ that was 5x as hard PVP wise and attrition wise), the team I played with were bandits who used tactics on an insane level; players who's playstyle fitted alongside mines. Excluding James and Mitton, I am finding it hard to achieve this with ugN since the clan has focused on a more "base-building" angle over the last 5-6 weeks. The main reason, sadly, is that it has became incredible exhausting to continue respecting other members' chosen playstyle when these members are constantly ridiculing me for mines. I wish the clan would understand that DayZ is an open sandbox game. It has no rules or a set-in-stone playstyle. Your moral compass aids you in how you play the game. It is NOT the rules of the game. There are a few arrogant members who can't help but try to tell me the "right way to play the game." There is no right way to play the game. A "respect other players" message appears everytime you log into the server, I wish the members who created that rule would follow it. Mitton and James are a great example of respect for other players. I have grown distant to the desire in contributing to the clan and as a result I am taking a break from DayZ. The novelty of the game has been lost and I am not going to continue playing with a clan that not only does not make me feel welcome but also disrespects the way I play. I dunno how long I am going to go on a break for. I will be back when I feel like I want to play again. I think I am going to spend some time playing games that will light some nostalgia. Final Fantasy and Star Wars Jedi Academy comes to mind! 33
Minecraft / Re: Redstone« on: October 29, 2015, 11:58:57 AM »Quote Ok so I noticed your Minecraft board and then saw it being completely empty of anything interesting. . . . . Come on guys the Day Z threads are packed! I came across Minecraft via Yogscast on their MC:Survival Island videos then instantly fell in love with their Shadow of Israphel series. It is one of those games that you know gamers will play for a very long time! Sadly, we are (mostly) a DayZ mod clan. Although it is obvious that you have a passion for the game. You should seek out an MC clan. And when you're in the mood to play DayZ, log on to Pinky's! 34
DayZ Mod - (1.8.8) / Re: Teamwork« on: October 28, 2015, 11:54:30 AM »
I think your death could have been friendly fire because you died whilst hatcheting someone. When I killed one player, I went to check to see if all were dead as we were confused by the many deaths at one time on side. Then I got STANAG'd at close range.
Point is, this shouldn't have happened. We had a major advantage by knowing they were there and they were unaware of us. If this player listened and allowed us to get in position and implement a perfect ambush. We would have all survived. Instead of losing two players because he cba waiting. As I said, if you're in the team. Listen and allow the team to play good. Otherwise go on your own and play bad. 35
DayZ Mod - (1.8.8) / Teamwork« on: October 27, 2015, 08:51:01 PM »
Hi guys!
I'd like to invoke a small discussion. There are a couple of people who are ruining the aspect of great teamplay by lacking the ability to follow simple instructions within the team. We were four players against two players at Balota today. They didn't even know we were there. Two of our players ended up dead because one of our players shot pre-maturely when we agreed to get more players into position and kill both players simultaneously. What's worse, for a moment we didn't even know if this player was one of our own, one of theirs or another party, because this player refused to announce if or when they were firing at all. This really pissed us off after tallying our loses. Furthermore, I believe some shit happened over the last two nights where team killing was involved through miscommunications. It's very simple guys. Great team work can create some awesome fucking gameplay in DayZ. If you're in a squad, respect the team and the success that can derive from great teamwork. There's nothing more satisfying to me than a successful ambush or an immense firefight where we come on top because we outplayed our opponents. Don't fuck that up because you're immaturity cannot comprehend following basic instructions. There's nothing more annoying than having to bike up that fucking coast because one player couldn't go with the flow. Play great with the team or play bad on your own. 36
DayZ Mod - (1.8.8) / Re: Building Supplies?« on: October 22, 2015, 02:27:38 PM »
I think the best angle in determining what is a "fair" amount of building supples would be better interpreted by thinking "right, I have just cleared Klen. How much loot should I get until I feel well-rewarded?" People need to be motivated to do Klen, it is "the boss battle" of all missions; it requires manpower, firepower, significant logistics and tactics. I believe that if a group has successfully taken out 100 A.I. then they should be majorly rewarded by allowing them the tools to create half a bad ass base and arm themselves to the teeth.
I agree with Black-Ops. There is no point in giving a group of players the building supplies if they don't have the tools to put them to good use. Maybe a 3 to 1 ratio of tools and building supplies. Enough to start up quickly and then harvest the supplies required to continue. 37

Hall of Fame / Wall of Shame / Re: UGN base« on: October 14, 2015, 05:17:07 PM »
To be honest, it was expected to happen sooner or later. Setting aside a chopper assault. The proximity of vehicles means that the entire base could be seriously damaged by one well placed grenade.
With the time and effort these take to build, maintain and organise. It's so easy for someone to come along and take everything away with no consideration or respect for the people who built it. Which is why I tend not to bother dedicating myself to them. It would be nice to think "I would respect the dedication made to creating their base, so they will do the same to mines" (plot-twist, I don't really). But you can't rely on everyone thinking the same way. Destroying what someone has made is just part of DayZ. 42

What's happening regarding this? It would be a shame to give up with having only the ammo in and not the launcher.

Time: 1810ish
Date: 30/09/15 Person: Potentially uHcnekToP9, Space Beast, Jaramy or El Sharrif. Jaramy, Space Beast and El Sharrif were having an argument with [4D]Rafal because they "shot him in the head four times" when he was flying the AN2 and did not die. Myself and Savage defend Rafal, saying that he does not hack. They end up having a go at us and before you know it, screen freezes, Arma crashes. Then Space Beast is over direct going "Rafal hacks, yeah guys, told you, lets go" and quit. Everyone who now joins the server insta dies on a constant loop. El Sharrif is the last person in the play list after everyone leaves and the loop is continuing. Would it be possible to have everyone whitelisted via GUID on the forum to ensure this happens at an utmost minimum? Zombies.nu done this for their Day Zero mod and it was solid in terms of anti-hacking. Only thing that occured was DDOS'ing. I appreciate this may "stop people from playing on the server" until we have their GUID and this may be "inconvienient" because people cannot be arsed spending 2 minutes to verify their GUID but I would rather play on a server with less people who are not going to hack than playing with more people and a potential of hacking. |
