CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k
« on: August 27, 2012, 10:45:02 AM »
So my new cpu, not really much to say. It comes with a stock speed of 3.4 GHz, 4 cores and no hyper threading. Runs at about 33c idle, and with the stock cooler about 45c under load. Together with the rest of my pc, it runs BF3 on ultra at 40 FPS, and handles everything I can throw at it with ease. Stock cooler is fine for the stock speeds, but if you are planning to overclock it goes without saying that you need an aftermarket cooler. Apparently, they overclock even easier than Sandy Bridge, but I will give you my opinion when I get to the overclocking stage. Overall, good processor for gaming, maybe not so good for really demanding applications like video editing or CAD work, but more than good enough for me.
If you want me to run any benchmarks on it, just let me know

I could probably get temps similar to yours, if I wasn't using the stock cooler, and a cheap case with only 3/4 of the fan spaces filled. Besides, 45c is nothing to worry about, its fine.
