Title: Members night
Post by: Joanne on September 07, 2015, 09:01:46 PM
Hey guys,
As i was saying last members night i think we should do a Most wanted/Hvt themed night.
Would work by us all choosing a number and using an rng to pick the first Hvt. The aim would be for the hvt to kill other player gaining 30 points per kill on other participants and 15 points on other people on the server. While they do this the other participants hunt for the hvt. During this time kills on other participants will give them 5 point, innocents will give 1 point and killing the Hvt will give them 100 points and make them the new hvt, at which time they have a 1 minute grace period in which to escape. Non Hvt players can choose to work as a team or on their own and all players just call their kills so we can accurately track scores. When a player dies they lose 15 points then they simple gear back up and begin the hunt anew so everyone can stay involved (so longs doesn't need to worry about his piloting skills ruining the fun). I would suggest this lasting for an entire reset like 9pm-1am so that people can use the time to get some gear/supplies ready.

So would anyone be interested in such an idea and if so what day would be best for everyone, I'll look into some good ways to keep track of scores over the next week so let me know what you guys think.

This is Ants idea an i think its a good one so we will be doin it this sat around 8:45 pm

i think it's a wonderfull idea but just needs a bit more tweaking so all the rules are very clear, very easy and very hard to break.

Right, been tweaking my idea a bit to account for timescale etc, I'd suggest that we stick to the coast as thats where the majority of players will be (also lets people get back into action quicker after spawning), as for the rules; biggest one we'll need to account for is calling kills /deaths as this is how we'll track who's hvt and who gets what points. Shouldn't be too hard to do if most people are on teamspeak (plus all of us being on ts lets the hvt spread misinformation about their location).

Scoring will be pretty much the same as in my original post, So when you're the hvt, other people in the event get you 30 points, randoms on the server are 15.
When hunting the hvt you get 5 points for killing a clan member 1 point per random and a whooping 100 points for the hvt (so it keeps people focused while allowing a good player to rack up points as hvt so not to be too imbalanced)
Dying will lose you 15 points a pop.
Once the hvt is down,(it need to be called by the hvt who died and the player who killed him) we'll begin a one minute grace period in which time killing the hvt loses you 50 points giving the hvt a chance to relocate.
Also killing of Collectors* (see below) Will lose you 15 points and will not longer have gear returned to them.
Person with the most points at the end of the night wins. With honorable (or dishonorable) mentions for most kills as hvt, most hvt kills, most player kills and most random kills.

*One thing i was also thinking is if anyone with a big backpack is willing to forgo two gunning so we can retrieve weapons from bodies for those who die then we can tp people to regear away from the action. I know this sounds counter intuitive but it will help keep people into the event. I'll be doing this but will need one or two others in case collectors become hvts.

Hopefully this hasn't made it sound way too over complicated, i'll explain it over ts closer to the day. Real aim of many of these changes is to keep people involved so that we don't end up with people quitting.
Any questions pop me a reply or hit me up on steam

Collectors are simply what i'm calling people who are going in with enough space in their backpack to pick up the guns of the fallen, so they can regear and get back in the hunt quicker, its completely voluntary and if you'd rather pick your own gear up you can. Is just a method to keep people involved cos i think it would suck to die with full gear in the first 10 minutes and have to hunt someone down with just a lee enfield

Hey guys, i'll thought i'd just leave a bit of detail here for tonight, I should be back on by 8 ish but just in case i'm a little late here's what i've planned.
If we're all on TS it'll help, Once i have a list of who's taking part i'll assign you each a number and enter it into an rng to decide first hvt hope fully by 8.45, once thats done the hvt has the time until the reset to chose where he starts ( along the coast so we stay in high traffic areas) and the rest of us will take up a positions to begin after the rest. At this time i'll also be double checking for anyone will to pick up the gear of the fallen to help regear, once this is established killing these players while not the HVT will lose you 15 points!!!. I'll be on ts keeping track of the following criteria for Scoring:
Clan kills 30 pts (as hvt), Random kills 15 pts (as hvt), Hvt kills 100 pts, Clan kills 5 pts, random kills 1 pt, Killing collectors while not hvt -15pts, killing hvts during the grace period -50 pts and Deaths -15pts. I'll be keeping an eye on death messages but i'll need to know who gets the kills etc. And If you are the hvt and get killed i'll need to you to say hvt down when ur killed so we can designated the hvt.
I'll make it sound less complicated when i'm on ts later. The way i've structured the points is to try and keep people on objective and involved while maintaining balance while allow someone to really get a score going by taing out the hvts to stop it being a run away victory for anyone.

Hopefully you guys will enjoy this and i won't end up looking like a complete pleb :)
