Do you record in parts?

Do you record in parts?

I record in sections using fraps. If you use the '/cg_drawfps 1' command in the console you can see a frame drop as you take each clip, using fraps in theatre mode. When you start a clip, fps drops and when it ends it goes back up again. Its rare that I need an extended bit of action (I die too much) but if I want to record a long kill streak or something I just change the angle with each new clip.

I use fraps to record from theatre or /record on old cod games because I find otherwise it seriously lags out the gameplay.

Fraps will record anything you have on screen... so Kris close any dodgy websites when you are recording your tutorial  ;)

I cant even record, FPS go down to 10-20 when I start fraps

Change the capture settings in fraps to half size and/or to a lower fps capture rate.
