I'm pretty sure we'll have a server for CS:GO.
I have it on my radar of potential buys, but I'm not pre-ordering it. Will wait to see what the veteran CS players have to say about it once it's out for a couple of weeks.

Your taking advice about a game from somebody who said that they don't like it? Thought you where smarter than that joe :D. They where the fore runner to CoD, its main game mode is similar to search and destroy. Everything is a weapon that has to be selected, including the bomb and the knife. Its got no ads and no kill streaks. Look it up on YouTube for more info/game play.

Good stuff Krisis, i'll defo buy it then. I've been playing the beta and its good fun. I would recommend it to anyone thats unsure (dont listen to Kris ;) )

Well, after watching ( and being disappointed ) at the trailes and gameplay videos of Treyarch's latest effort in the CoD series, I think CS:GO will be a good alternative to pass the time until we decide what to do competitive wise, so I'll probably get it.
Sorry to say this but CoD BO 2 doesn't look like it's gonna take off in the PC competitive scene. Who knows, I might have to eat my words after it gets released but as things are/look now, the chances for that to happen are pretty slim.

Lol, update.
After checking the game on steam I noticed that it only costs 10€ so I instantly pre-ordered it...Even if it turns out not to be as good as I hoped, it's only 10€.

As for Black Ops2, im kind of looking forward to that, just watched the new multiplayer vid and it looks like fun. For those that dont play competitively, thats all it needs to be really, along with having ranked dedi's.

All first person shooter games are based on the same platform - just coded differently, otherwise it wouldnt be a fps, i hate CS, love COD, the feel, game play, controls, sometimes the graphics ect, what put me off.
i sometimes hate AC because of the way u have to select stuff.
everyone has their taste in games, some like, some hate it.
only reason we mess about on AC, its free, it fast, and it aint that big of a game, people on Dial up can play it.
So its not just kris.

Quake II - my favourite game of all time i think. First game i ever played online, down a sh*tty dial up connection, but it was awesome.

ALL CS titles are on sale on steam right now, and they are a bargain! So no excuse XD

Tbh CoD has way more things in common with CS than it has with Quake.
If you ask me the only things the two games ( Quake and CoD ) share is the games engine ( IdTech ) and the fact that both are FPSs, and that's it....Just check a couple of CS LAN tournament videos and compare it to CoD. The similarities between the two games are just astonishing.
I also love the Quake series ( up until Enemy Territory: Quake Wars got released....that game is pure crap ). My favourite was and still is Quake III Arena, had an awesome time playing it with my RL mates.

I was wondering the same thing. I already have beta access, but on purchase it stated that buying it early gives you beta access from the 13th or 14th of August. So, maybe having access to the beta is kind of a pre-load.

i believe if you have pre-purchased it, then the 14th (beta) and the full game is either released 23rd or 29th, i can't remember which XD

the full game is released on the 21st limey. I've been playing the beta more now and im really getting into it. Dont get me wrong, im pretty sh*t in all fairness, but it is a very difficult game to get into at first. It takes time to get any good at it.
