yea, AMD CPU's aren't great for overclocking... Not stable at all past a few MHz increase, whereas intel can OC over 1GHz quite easily.
i just prefer amd in general, i like their reliability and you get what you pay for. they may not be as good as intel but for my first build im happy with the cheaper option

Thats strange you should say that... AMD CPU's are very unreliable Especially their dual cores. Im hoping to change to intel in my next build
Both Intel and AMD have made some great chips and some crap ones, so it really depends on the exact cpu. At the moment generally speaking Intel have faster chips and AMD have a better upgrade path, will this change... sure it will. It will be all different in a year so being an AMD fanboy or an Intel fanboy is a bit pointless and the same goes for GFX cards.

Both (mainly ATI) are designed to run better with the relevant cpu
